Instructor Bios

Vanessa Wood – lead facilitator and program coordinator specializing in fulfilling the cognitive and affective needs of highly and profoundly gifted learners.

Vanessa is a graduate student in the Masters of Arts in Gifted Education (MAGE) program at Northeastern Illinois University.  Her background is in leadership with undergraduate studies in Entrepreneurialship, Marketing and Communications from Babson College in Wellesley, MA.

Most recently, Vanessa has spent much of her time working with students in various roles including DestinationImagination Enrichment Facilitator, Future Problem Solving Coach, Nature Program Leader and Substitute Classroom Teacher. Vanessa is currently dedicated to fulfilling the cognitive and affective needs of her two boys as a homeschool parent, teacher and graduate student immersed in the study of the unique needs of the spectrum of gifted students.

Advanced Astronaut Training for the highly advanced student in Math and Science is being offered by The Challenger Learning Center in adherence to Northeastern Illinois University’s practicum requirements for MAGE candidacy.
